Paolo is an executive director in Gallagher Re’s Strategy Advisory practice. He joined in 2022, building on his experience working for Brit, Beazley, Charles Taylor, Boston Consulting Group and McKinsey. Paolo’s brings an unrelenting drive to ensure technology is effectively used across the insurance process in broking, underwriting, claims and back-office functions. Over the past decade Paolo set up a new Lloyd’s syndicate and Managing Agency, supported the creation of the Lloyd’s Lab, and pushed the development of the “bionic underwriter” and “digital sherpa” concepts - blending human judgement with data-driven insight and AI. Paolo is a Chartered Engineer and a Fellow of the Institute of Engineering and Technology. He was a co-founder of InsTech, the world’s leading insurtech association, has published a primer on Quantum Computing for Business Executives, and sits on the IIL’s Cyber & Technology committee.
